Auto Cooling System Service &

Repair

Did you know that your engine's radiator and cooling system need to be serviced and maintained on a regular basis? One of the functions of (antifreeze/coolant) is to keep your engine from overheating while it's running OR freezing during periods of extremely cold temperatures. During the summer the fluid is pumped into the engine block to pick up heat that is generated by the engine. Then, the hot fluid gets pumped out to the radiator to be cooled off by the surrounding air. This cycle continues over and over again while your engine is running. During cold weather the antifreeze prevents the fluid from freezing and cracking the engine block which can be extremely expensive to repair. When the coolant gets old the coolant's pH level changes to become more acidic. It eventually transforms into a corrosive acid, which eats away at your cooling system's components! Old coolant with an acidic pH balance is the leading cause of leaky radiators, water pumps, and heater cores!

Automotive Cooling System

Repair

Auto A/C Service Northwest Arkansas One of the leading causes of auto cooling system failure is caused when the water pump stops pumping coolant through the system. Most car manufacturers recommend replacing the water pump prior to its failure and we suggest going by your manufacturers recommendations. Radiators are the second leading reason for automotive cooling system repair. Regular flushing of the system will help prevent the need for radiator repair but you can be assured that if it happens Tim’s Automotive has the experience for auto cooling system repair to be done right.

Automotive Heating System

Repair

Auto Heating System Repair Northwest Arkansas Your vehicle’s heating system absorbs excess engine heat through a mixture of water and antifreeze called coolant. The heating system circulates the heated coolant to the heater core in the dashboard, which directs the warm air into your vehicle’s interior compartment.  Heating system components include the heater fan, water pump, thermostat, heater hoses, and heater core. These components regulate the internal temperatures of the engine and vehicle cabin. The water pump pushes coolant to the engine block. Coolant flows from the cylinder heads to the heater core, where the heater fan directs the warm air outflow into the vehicle’s cabin. Once the heat is transferred from the coolant into the vehicle, the coolant returns to the water pump where it continues to circulate through the system. During a automotive heating system repair, our service staff will examine all heating system components and then perform auto heating system repair to any component that needs repair. We hope your cooling system never leaves you stranded, but if you do need wrecker service we hope you will consider Tim’s Towing Service to get your vehicle where it needs to go.
